A Hungary Student & Residence Permit is a long-term visa designed for international students who wish to study and live in Hungary for an extended period. This permit allows you to legally reside in Hungary while pursuing academic programs such as undergraduate, postgraduate, or language courses at recognized institutions. In addition, students may have the opportunity to work part-time during their studies, depending on local regulations.

As Hungary is part of the Schengen Area, holders of a student residence permit can also travel within other Schengen countries for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. To apply, applicants must provide key documents such as an official letter of acceptance from a Hungarian educational institution, proof of accommodation, valid travel insurance, financial proof to cover living expenses, and a valid passport. Some applicants may also be required to attend an interview or submit additional supporting documents.

This permit is ideal for students seeking high-quality education in Europe at a relatively affordable cost. With its rich cultural heritage, vibrant student life, and internationally recognized universities, Hungary offers an excellent environment for both academic and personal growth. Proper preparation and complete documentation will help ensure a smooth application process and successful approval.

Note
The Type D Visa must be used within 3 months of approval; otherwise, it will be automatically cancelled and a new application will be required.
If additional documents or revisions are requested, processing time may be extended up to 60 days.
