The Working KITAS is designed for non-Indonesian nationals who are hired to work in Indonesia for a duration of more than a few months. This is the most extensive work permit available, enabling the holder to earn income, open bank accounts, pay taxes, acquire a mobile phone, and more.

In order to acquire a valid work permit, it is necessary to be employed by a company that is duly registered in Indonesia. This entity may take the form of a Foreign Owned Company (PMA), a Representative Office, or an Indonesian Owned Company.
