Dependent KITAS

In Indonesia, a dependent KITAS or family reunion visa is a legal instrument that enables foreign nationals to bring their families with them as they establish themselves in the country. In essence, a dependent visa enables individuals holding a work permit or KITAS to sponsor their spouse and children below 18 years of age to reside with them.
A dependant KITAS is technically sponsored by the same company that sponsored the foreigner’s work permit or KITAS. It is noteworthy that individuals who are foreign nationals and possess Indonesian dependent visas are not authorized to engage in employment or receive remuneration from Indonesian enterprises.
In order for the family members of foreign nationals to be eligible for an Indonesian dependent visa, they must first acquire a limited stay visa (VITAS) to gain entry into the country. Upon their arrival, their VITAS will be converted into either an Indonesian family visa or a dependent visa.
